The "Made in China" and "Bought by us" stickers attached to the two A2 posters reflected the visual language used in mass produced products.

These two posters by Amelia Roberts cleverly illustrates the complex nature of the question “Who’s responsible for global warming?" With stickers adorning each poster that say “Made in China” and “Bought By Us” she points out that our culture of consumption makes us complicit in China’s massive contribution to global warming.

As she explains on her site:

“The West blame China’s carbon emissions as a main cause of Global Warming. Yet the West seem unaware that they are fueling China’s industrial revolution.”

    True, true!!!!!
But it's like a never ending circle anyway... we crave to buy cheap items because of this crisis global and they provide.. so?
I wish they stop producing dangerous products..

    Jc,
It's not about that China produces dangerous products that may cause harm to the customers.

It's because if your products produced in China, it just cost u very little, like big company Mattel, for example.

No wonder, China is one of the biggest carbon emission contributors. So, who's to blame?

  4. Sera Melinda Says:

    Dorothy,
I guess every country is the contributor to carbon emission that makes global warming worsen. It's that China is one of the biggest contributors. But nobody can't blame China because big companies around the world produce their products in China, again, who's to blame?

  5. anney Says:

I'm not really sure who's to blame. China and USA both benefit from each other. No one should point finger who's to blame now.

  6. Sera Melinda Says:

    @Anney,
Let's blame all of us, ok? Because we all human beings who cause global warming. What a shame!

  7. jc Says:

*sigh*.. yeah.. oh humannn... we're all to blame then, eh? But after all, what next? Sometimes, skeptically I thought it is too late to do something after those concerned people scream about global warming and gave us a very horrible future picture. Oh well..

  8. Sera Melinda Says:

    Jc,
I guess what makes you think it's too late is that because there're still so many ppl who haven't realized what they've done to the earth. They don't really understand what global warming is (or they don't care?).

But we still can do something, it's never to late for it - it's our job to wake them up and save the earth together, am i right?
